Do you know what a child in danger on the streets is ?

A child in danger on the streets is a child under economic pressures from their family. From an early age they are exposed to seeing the demads of life, which often means that they are obligated to intergrate themselves into the the working world or to take on the responsibility or caring for their siblings and the household chores in order to help the family income. This work, which in many cases takes place in exploitive and abusive conditions, along with the high demads which they impose, lead to severe situations of anguish and tension. In this way, the children of the working classes in Mexico City, for lack of alternatives, begin their lives in the wide-open spaces of the streets, which limits their possibilities and reduces their plan to one of survival.

These children come from single parent families in which the father or mother work all day in order to obtain food to survive. The adults, primarily the women, have little or no time for recreation which intensifies the levels of tension and fatigue in giving attetion to the children. Because of this, the children spend a lot of time alone even when their parents are physically present. Playing and socialisation open out to the margins of the parents which increases the generational barriers which means different codes and values. If a child in danger on the streets does not receive help, they will end up trapped in these circumstances.

The said children come from rural areas or shanty towns in the so-called "belts of misery" which circle Mexico City, moreover, disintegrated family dynamics with the absence of paternal or maternal figures and the common factor which surrounds these families: poverty.

This is why the aim of the project "Centre for help of families in development” is to offer children and young people the rare resources as in their families the neccessary equipment to help the lower-classed people; which in the midst of a hostile and difficult society allows them to face up to these obstacles with their learnt abilities and education which they need in order to be productive people, mentally healthy as well as physically; valuable for themselves, for their families and for society.

The right to a dignified life is, without a doubt, a basic human right which can be imagined as the synthesis of political, economic and social rights etc. It is understood, among other things, that the basic liberites are those of work, education, transit, opinion, in other words, the absence of discrimination.

Everyone has the right to social sensitivity, we have the social duty to do something, to concern ourselves, to put our hands to social work and to help the society that surrounds us to respond to the needs that they have. We shouldn't continue shut our eye and pretend that the problems don't exist.

It is our desire as a group of people who recognise this truth, to be a practical instruments so that the people who live in these conditions receive the opportunity to change, by means of providing their needs in a real way, offering them the neccessary resources in order to do this.

Every family which attends the Centre for Help to Families in Development should have access to a dignified life, with freedom and love. As the name of the group suggests, we want to work with families, and we understand that each memeber should be encouraged and equipped in order to participate in the change, expanding their personal and family visions.

Otherwise it would be incongruent to show a new horizon to just one family member and afterwards to clip their "wings" when they do not encounter the help they need to enforce the change within their own home, having to fight with established opposing convictions to all modifications.

It is neccessary that every adult becomes a productive person for their own good and for the good of their family and society, avoiding the formation of individuals without alternatives, who opt for a life of crime as happens in a community environments where there is a lack of virtues and opportunities to provide for their basic needs.

At the same time InPaVi seeks to promote virtues and an adequate environmet so that those under the age of eighteen are instructed by means of practical principles of integral formation, which drive them to choose a better way of life and which will effedct their environment, forming men and women who help in the development and influence of the nation.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

  • To help families who find themselves in poverty, socially marginalised and disadvantaged so that they are able to respond to their obvious needs by means of the devolpment of their own capabilities with the final aim of integration into a society of people with holy virtues who are able to help their families and the community which surrounds them.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  • To promote dignified relationships and respect towards children who are at risk, instilling virtues into them and endowing them with the tools which they need to live with responsiblity and in orde to defend their rights in the same way as everyone else.
  • To help family integration and teaching the community to resolve personal, employment, family, community problems and conflicts etc. with the aim of breaking out of a hostile environment and moving forward.
  • To help with and provide opportunities for physical, laboral, social and intellectual development and, therefore, the expectations of economic, moral and spiritual growth in these kinds of families.
  • To prevent social pathologies such as violence, drug dependace and crime as means of identifying and strengthening protection factors which already exist or which are produced in each family.
  • To improve physical conditions of children and young people form low income families, as well as their families by means of free medical treatment and the provision of balanced meals on day when activities take place in the centre.

The group of people who we aim to attract and help is made up of children and young people between the ages of 1 and 16in situations of extreme vulnerability. In the same way among our objectives is found that of support and help for the mothers of the children who have real family and social needs. This project of InPaVi aims to be a platform of help to the most needy.

Our dream is to build orphanages, adoption centres in order to support and serve low income families in Mexico and in Europe.
